What is jet lag?
Jet lag is a temporary sleep disorder that occurs when you travel across multiple time zones rapidly, typically by airplane. It happens because your body's internal clock (circadian rhythm) remains synchronized to your original time zone rather than adjusting immediately to your new location. As you traverse more than three time zones, your body's internal clock needs time to adjust to the new sleep and wake patterns of your destination. You will slowly adapt to the new environment, although it requires time.
